Every artist has a beginning.
Mine didn’t begin with quarried stone, but by creating my own sculpting blocks from lime, marble and natural minerals.
Those early sculptures taught me the language of flowing form and feminine presence.
Over time I was drawn to carving natural stone - a material carrying millions of years of history. I then found myself responding less to preconceived ideas and more to the stone itself.
As my relationship with stone deepened, the sculptures themselves became quieter, simpler and more spacious.
What began as an exploration of the feminine has gradually become an exploration of presence, stillness and the quiet conversation between sculptor and stone.
